How to do business with due consideration for people, the environment and economic results
What are sustainable business practices?
Sustainable business practices involve paying equal attention to people, the environment and economic results. Running a sustainable business means selecting issues on which you can have the greatest impact as an organisation, and implementing ways to do so. What’s more, doing business in a sustainable manner involves taking small, practical steps, without losing yourself in huge, dizzying ambitions.
100% sustainable projects for people and communities in 2025
Yes – this is our ambition, our BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal). It’s the speck on the horizon that inspires and mobilises us. It may – or should – actually be a bit awkward. And in fact, it is. We’d like to share with you what our own path towards sustainable entrepreneurship looks like. And how we can help your own organisation to implement sustainable business practices.
4 sustainable development goals
In order to determine how sustainable our business practices are, we assess them against four SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set by the United Nations. We chose these specific goals because they are the ones most closely aligned with our core values. What’s more, we expect to be able to make the greatest impact through these particular goals.
Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8)
Reduced inequalities (SDG 10)
Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12)
Climate action (SDG 13)
How we assess our projects for sustainability
In order to determine the extent to which our own projects are sustainable, we look at the impact that they each have on these four sustainable development goals. We also examine which preconditions are necessary to achieve them.
Sustainable entrepreneurship – what are we ourselves doing to achieve it?
We regard sustainable entrepreneurship as a journey. We see it as an adventure, during which we may fall to the ground sometimes, before then getting back up on our feet again. After all, we are not the source of all wisdom with regard to sustainability. But we are extremely good at continually improving performance. In fact, when it comes to this, we’re the experts.
Start doing business sustainably
Are you trying to get ready for an energy transition that’s coming your way? Do you need to turn the nitrogen crisis into a manageable challenge? Or do you simply believe – just as we do – that sustainable business practices are a precondition for becoming a future-proof organisation? If so, we can offer you a number of solutions that will contribute to your organisation’s transition towards sustainable entrepreneurship. This could, for instance, involve increasing your flexibility, using your data more effectively, or developing moral leadership.
